Alpine Rally of East Gippsland

The Alpine is the Oldest Surviving Motorsport Event in Australia and the Second Oldest Rally in the World!

Only a handful of motorsport events, including the French Grand Prix, the Monte Carlo Rally, the Indianapolis 500, Pikes Peak Hill Climb and the Italian Grand Prix, are older.  So the Aussie Alpine Rally is in amazing company.

The Alpine is a Special Stage Rally for Two Wheel Drive Classic Rally Cars and usually covers Over 1,000 km.

The event attracts the Cream of Australia’s Gravel Rally Competitors, from all states and territories along with International Competitors from New Zealand, the UK, the USA and Ireland.

2021 was the 100th Anniversary of the first running of the Alpine in 1921.

Unfortunately, due to COVID lockdowns the centenary celebrations were postponed to December 2022.

The East Gippsland weather was Fabulous in 2022 for the Alpine Rally Centenary and everyone had a Great Time.

The Lovell’s Alpine Rally of East Gippsland will be back in November 2025.

The Historic Rally Association is in the planning and the Excitement is Growing by the day.

The Alpine Committee will be reverting to the Traditional 2.5 Day Format for 2025 with the Amazing Action from Friday afternoon to Sunday.

The plan for 2025 is for Evolution, not Revolution!

The 2025 Lovell’s Apline Rally of East Gippsland will run with a spirit and an ethos that acknowledges the importance of an era in our Rally history, with a particular focus on the “Golden Era” of Alpine Rallies in years gone by.

The mantra for 2025 is “Celebrating the Past, Creating History”, acknowledge and celebrate the deeds of the past while we Write another Chapter of its History in 2025.

The Rally Monaro has completed no less than 7 Apline Rallys driven by Rally Legend Ken Cusack within his 200+ Events History which is incredible.

Clearly the Dimech Brothers want to Honor this History and be part of an Alpine Rally themselves.

Plans are underway to make 2025 the Dimech Brothers Alpine Rally and fingers crossed we can make the planets align.

We look forward to sharing the Rally Monaro Experience at the Alpine Rally once more.
